Agentic commerce

Commerce where software agents perform the shopping, not just the paying: discovering merchants, comparing offers, negotiating terms, and completing checkout on a person’s or business’s behalf. An agentic payment is the settlement step inside it. The defining shift is that the buyer’s attention disappears from the funnel - merchandising, placement, and brand aimed at human eyes give way to structured offers aimed at machine comparison, and the protocols that carry them (see ACP, AP2, x402) become the new storefront.
